Yesterday I Played Super Woman That’s The Life Of A Mom

13 Aug

I think I am still tired from yesterday. Today is a new day, but yesterday I was “Super Women”. I had so much to get done. Even though I knew it was going to be a busy day I still had to get on the computer to check Facebook, Twitter, Mom 2 Mom, upload my blog posting, and upload a picture to my blog, all before I got my day started. Before I got on the computer I had to call to my school; the community college that I am attending. The fall semester starts in 2 weeks, so I was trying to order my books online, but the system was not having it. I still didn’t order my books. After that it was time to get my love dressed then me. Breakfast was a no go yesterday morning, it was a grab something and go kind of day.

We had 3 set appointments but numerous stops to make yesterday. The heat made every stop almost unbearable. It was in the car seat, out the car seat, repeat this like 15 times. Now I am sick of the car seat! One appointment was at the WIC office. She got to see the dental hygienist, who painted fluoride on her teeth. Then the nutritionist told me not to give A’Janaya any food other then at meal and snack times. Only water in between. This is to get your child on a schedule for school as well as let them know food is offered at certain time, no earlier or later. I thought this was kind of harsh, but okay I think. They are always telling me how small she is, and asking me dumb questions like: Do you feed her? She is a slender something. Yes I do you idiot, she is my child! Of course I feed her! As for her being slender, its called DNA, its in her genes. To bad she got those genes from AJ. I get really tired of hearing that question.

Any way Pizza Hut was next. My daughter went around to different tables to talk to people. She did this more then she ate her food. But at least she did eat something. Recycling, Wal-mart, The Shoe Department, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Prince Edward Elementary school were all our next stops. Yesterday was open house at school. We got to meet A’Janaya’s teacher! Even though none of her friends are in the same class, she will make new friends. I know she was looking forward to being in her friends class, but life will go on.

Next was my friends house, which my daughter has been talking about going over for a while. So yesterday she got to do it. I had to make 2 more stops, Kroger and Dollar General again. Once I went back to my friends house it was time to go home.

My friends daughter slept over last night, and cried for “mama” a good portion of the time. When she wasn’t crying her and my daughter were playing in their dinner. Mashed potatoes in Bri’s hair and all on her forehead. Yeah I had to fix dinner. I have a thing that is called a “hungry man” his name is AJ, he’s always hungry. He can cook but is always looking for me to cook, even when I am super tired. What can I say he’s a man and I can cook!

Once it was bedtime Bri whined for “mama” until she fell asleep. She did this literally, she fell out of the bed! After the kids were in the bed and Bri was off of the floor, it was time for mommy and daddy to have some time to ourselves. We decided to watch a movie, Knocked Up, that movie is really funny. We laughed a lot! While watching the movie AJ had to go to the bathroom. I heard him say, “Oh shit”! Bri was sitting in the living room on the sofa all by herself and she wasn’t crying. She scared him! No one was suppose to be in the living room, especially at 2 something in the morning. She was mad she wouldn’t talk to us. She didn’t say it but she wanted her mama. Once Bri got in the bed with us I fell asleep. I woke up this morning it was just me and Bri in the bed. AJ was in the living room on the sofa with our daughter, sleep. I didn’t know he left out the room. I guess I was too tired to notice. He had finished the movie without me. Jokes on him, because I had already watched it! I knew he would like it, plus it was funny so I didn’t mind watching it again.

Are There Crack Heads Among Us?

30 Jul

Okay I have been thinking and wondering when did it become cool for people to use crack? Especially young people. I ask these questions because I thought I could tell if a person was on crack or not. I have some in my family, so I thought I knew. Boy was I wrong.

There was this boy who use to hang with my boyfriend. He was always over our house, he stayed at our house from time to time, ate dinner with us, anything that we needed and he could help out with it, he did. He was a really cool person. He was young, but cool. He wasn’t even 18 yet. Anyway we had a car in our yard that was my boyfriends cousins. The battery was dead. But some how his stero equiptment came up missing from his trunk. We didn’t know who did it, but we knew that it had to be someone who knew us. Whoever it was had to know enough about us to know that you had to jump the car in order to pop the trunk. As well as be comfortable enough to come in our yard and not be scared of our pit bulls. My boyfriend and his cousin asked the guy and he said “hell naw I wouldn’t steal from yall”. So whatever we had no proof and a lot of people don’t like my boyfriends cousin. And there were a lot of other people who could have stolen his stuff.

Move foward a few meeks to a month this particular person didn’t come around as much as he use to. He started to ask for money like clock work. Could he borrow money, did I have anything on my debit card, ect. The last time that he came he asked me for some money, I told him I didn’t have any. Then he asked me about my debit card that I had just got that very day. I told him I didn’t have anything on the card. The next morning I woke up my card is missing out of my wallet along with $2.00. I asked my boyfriend had this “person” been by and he said earlier that morning. This was not unusual because he was always over, any time day or night. My boyfriend and I find out the next week that he had been arrested for breaking and entering in another county and he had been smoking crack that whole week prior. Talk about a shocker, we had no clue. But heind seight is always 20/20. We thought about it and did notice that he was acting strange that whole week. He went from always being over to only comming over to ask for money. And to steal my debit card and $2.00. Even though he stole from us, I feel so bad for him, he is such a good person, and he is so young. How could someone that young be on crack? It boggles my mind. But this situation makes me wonder, are there other crack heads among us that I don’t know about?

Dinner… At This Hour

7 Jun

Yesterday was my birthday, and it has been over for 49 minutes and counting. I spent all day doing homework and tending to my 3-year-old, so I really didn’t cook. At about 11 o’clock my boyfriend and I got hungry. He thought I was supposed to cook a big birthday dinner, for myself. Men… Luckily for him he knows that I love to cook. So for dinner tonight at roughly at 11, I started cooking. It didn’t take me that long either. I cooked minute steak with onions, garlic, and mushrooms, butter & herb rice, Parker house style yeast rolls, and a chef salad. It wasn’t a bad meal, if I do say so myself. Okay none of my meals are bad. I am a really good cook. The rice was real simple I used Lipton, follow the directions on the bag. I put together a chef salad. I used a Fresh Express salad bag mix (anyone will do, whatever suits your taste) then added 1 medium tomato, a half of a cucumber, mild cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. I used rolls from your grocers freezer, the ones in the silver tin, I just brought store a store brand; they taste the same. You just heat and eat, real simple. If anyone wants to try my meal the recipe is as follows:

Steak with mushrooms, onions, and garlic

1 pound 25 ounces minute steak
half of 1 onion sliced
1 clove of garlic
3 ounces fresh sliced mushrooms
2TB flour
non stick cooking spray
2 beef bullion cubes
1TB oil (vegetable oil, oilve, or corn oil)
seasonings of your choice I used McCormick’s Montreal Chicken seasoning, Webber Grill Creations N’Orleans Cajun, and parsley

Stick steaks with a fork before cooking, so they won’t be tough.
Spray George Forman grill with non stick cooking spray, and place steaks on the grill. Season steak to your liking with the N’Orleans Cajun seasoning, then close grill. Flip steaks after 3 minutes and season the other side. While steak are cooking place sliced onions, mushrooms, and oil in a non stick skillet, on high heat. Once the mixture starts to sizzle reduce to medium high heat, and cover. Once the veggies have been satued, add garlic. Take steaks off of the grill and add to the pan with onion. Once the steaks and garlic are in the pan, add 2 1/2 cups of water, and the 2 beef bullion cubes. Turn heat back up to high, so the water will boil. Once the water starts to boil turn heat down to medium and put a top on the pan. Wait untill the liquid in the pan is reduced a little. Move the meat and veggies to one side of the pan, and add flour 1TB at a time, making sure you smoothe the flour into the liquid with the back of a wooden spoon to avoid lumps. After the flour is incooperated into the water, stir everything together, and let thicken for about 3 minutes. Add the Montreal chicken seasoning (enough to your likening, it doesn;t take that much) and a dash or 2 of parsley. Stir once again and turn off the heat.
Now you can plat up your steaks and eat… Enjoy!!
